6 month check in

We cannot believe that it has been 6 months since Jackson was born. Much has been going on since the last time we blogged -- Jackson loves his stomach and scoots around (not crawling though just pushing and squirming), he sits up all by himself (with minor spills of course!), he's started solids and loves them so much, enjoys giggling and making spluttering noises with his mouth, and loves his play groups (he is so precious and well-behaved). And absolutely loves, loves the mirror and inspecting/finding himself. So cute!

Yesterday and last night Jackson has been a bit off. According to Dr. Thompson his lower gum is nice and swollen; perfect for sprouting teeth! Finally! We hope! Yesterday Jackson took one 30 min nap and one hour long nap. I tried in the morning to get him down but he was all play and smiles so I just went with it. As most of you know it is fairly easy for me to get Jackson asleep via rocking and singing. So Tony and I figure a few things may be happening. One, his nap schedule is changing and hopefully he will have 2 nice long naps during the day. Two, he is teething. Three, I just started drinking a cup of coffee in the morning (this is my third morning of coffee). Or it could be a combination of things. Last night he woke up a couple times during the night. Jackson usually sleeps from 8pm to about 3 or 4 in the morning and sometimes even 5! Bedtime routine is great - nurse, bath time, bedtime story, and rock and sing to sleep. Although, Jackson has been squirming more and more lately. Tony and I are in the midst of figuring out if we continue with our current sleep method or move on to another method (such has Ferber or completely crying it out - yikes!). We'll be sure to keep people posted.

This morning we had our 6 month appointment with Dr. Thompson and things went great. Jackson is a whopping 29 1/2 inches, placing him off the charts/curves for height. Jackson is also 19 lbs 13 oz, dropping only slightly from 90 to 80th percentile. Still long and lean as ever.

Also, Jackson got the greatest little package for Valentine's Day from Grandma and Grandpa Keyser. They sent a wooden car for Jackson to chew (evidence below) and Father Fox nursery rhymes, which will surely be a favorite. Thanks Grandma Jen and Grandpa Dan - we love you!
