1 month stats

We had our one month check today for Will. Jackson came along with Mom and Will and did a great job of helping Dr. Potter. At 5 weeks Will is now 11 pounds and 22 inches. Nice work Will! Here are some more pictures of Will and visitors during his first 2 weeks of life.
Grandma made this hat for Will. We can't wait for it to fit him!

I love this photo. Jackson loves to kiss, especially Aunt Becky.

And Aunt Lucy!

Meeting Pappy and Nana for the first time!

Pappy convinced Jackson to get a hair cut. Thank God!

easter and mother's day 2011

Easter 2011, pre Baby Will. We had a blast, especially Jackson. Egg hunts, baseball, family - you can't ask for anything else. I love the photos of Jackson and his great grandmothers (Mary and Joyce).

We also had a great Mother's Day (which also fell on my birthday weekend). I loved hanging out with my guys. Jackson and I made a delicious chocolate cake. The pictures shown here are of Jackson practicing smiling for the camera (aka the squint and "ahhh" mouth). Dad took us to US Cellular Field to watch the UC baseball team. Jackson paid attention for a bit but we spent most of the first 7 innings walking up and down the steps and eating hotdogs (in an attempt to get him to sit still). We had a great time and it was hot, hot, hot.

Watermelon after a hot day at the ball park!

This is the last picture I took of Jackson before having baby Will. Jackson loves to spell his name (as you can see in the background). He is spectacular! And just think Will entered our lives just 5 days later.

Also, over Easter my fabulous mother-in-law bought me an awesome digital SLR camera. I love it and can't wait to continue posting pictures. Thanks Mom/Grandma!

introducing

We would like to finally introduce William James Bouressa to the ... um, blogging world. We know you all have received the great news about baby Will but still wanted to post a few pics of our newest family member. Will was born on May 14th at 3:44 am weighing in at 8 pounds and 4 ounces and measuring 21 inches. This labor was very different from the first - 1, made it to 37 weeks, 2, water broke at home, 3, the on-call midwife rocked, and 4, Will was delivered standing up. It was amazing, just like when Jackson entered the world.

Jackson is a great big brother. He loves helping with diaper changing and retrieving Will's pacifier and placing it gently back in his mouth. He hasn't show a bit of aggression, which doesn't surprise at the very least. He will start to "pretend" cry when Will is crying. Of course he's hoping to get attention. This usually subsides if we explain that he is a big kid and knows how to use his words instead of crying/whining.

Will is a great baby. He smiles a lot in his sleep and is very grunty with his voice. Does he cry? Absolutely. I think what Tony and I need to realize is that Jackson rarely cried for very long, which was a result of his personality but also a result of us having the time to hold him and having a quiet environment. With 2 kids you just can't have that. Jackson makes it very easy - he usually is very patient and understanding when Will needs attention. Will loves listening to Jackson play. And Jackson loves talking to Will. "Will, its time to go to the playground" or "Will, you like your playmat?" or when we're in the car "don't cry Will. We are almost home." This makes us very happy!
