to sleep or not to sleep? that is the question folks

Hello everyone - we are back and with some video evidence of Jackson! We have had a crazy Feb and March, and cannot believe that it is almost April. Things to quickly recap: we had a little trip home in Feb to visit family (Great Grandpa passed away. Grandma Mary is so strong, she says "Paul is with the lord and that makes me so happy!" What courage and strength and love she has for family and for God), Tony and Jackson worked really hard on their March Madness project (I'll post the video soon but I'm sure most of you have seen it), Jackson turned 18 months on March 7 and had a great checkup (31 lbs and 35 in!), the snow is melting and Mommy and Jackson are outside all the time, Daddy and Mommy (esp Daddy) are working hard to find jobs (we'll keep you posted for sure), and Jackson and Mommy started a toddler class at the Blackwell Center. BUT yesterday Jackson skipped his nap. He has been sleeping great at night so we really can't complain but the naps have been variable - sometimes its 45 mins, sometimes an hour. No matter the amount he is always happy and has very little tantrums. So back to yesterday, he didn't nap just played in his crib, which frustrated me (I know Jackson is fine but I really would like at least an hour of peace). Anyway, 4:30 rolls around and Jackson is getting tired (can we really blame him) and asking for food. So we feed him dinner. He promptly asks for milk (which we have been trying to give him after eating a little dinner because he downs that thing). I cave in this time and give him milk, he downs it and then this is what happens:

Don't you just love him. He wants the pizza, he wants to sleep, he wants his pizza, he wants to sleep ... Finally, we realize taking video of him in this particular moment may be a bit cruel. So then we found ourselves asking the ultimate question "to sleep or not to sleep?" What do most people do in this situation? I'm serious about getting a response if people have opinions. Do we let him have a power nap in the early evening? Or do we keep him up and put him down for bed earlier? Well, we decided to change Jackson, got him into the bath, into his jammies, and then had dinner #2.
